ACCESSIBLE CAMPUS

"Accessibility in Space" - Orange Flag

Our university has applied for the 2022 Barrier-Free University Awards organized by YÖK and won the "Accessibility in Space" Award in the Orange Flag category for the "Administrative and Classrooms Building". In our campus, where open campus areas are accessible, accessibility arrangements are being developed for different indoor areas in stages.

Abdullah Gül University has adopted an approach that promotes urban environmental awareness by supporting pedestrian traffic, pedestrian life and bicycle use on campus. In this direction, Sümer Campus was designed as a PEDESTRIAN FRIENDLY CAMPUS.

Sümer Campus has been designed in accordance with the aim of ensuring that all disabled individuals can reach every point within the campus without any problems by taking various measures for accessibility.

Our campus is generally built on a flat ground, and the ground differences at some points have been corrected by arranging ramps. All buildings on the campus contain building plans that can be used by the visually impaired. Descriptive physical orientation applications for disabled people on the ground at building connection points such as entrance doors, stairs and elevators have been completed.

In order to increase the accessibility of the campus physical areas, one-on-one interviews are made with our disabled students when necessary, and the campus access is completed without any problems.
